In 1993, “Bohnen im Urlaub” took to the stage in Erlenbach. Back then, they were young, fresh-faced and probably convinced that 2026 was a very, very long way off. Well, it happened: 33 years later, the Bohnen are back – in the very same hall, in the very same place. A little more mature, perhaps. But fortunately, no more sensible.
What began as an unplugged adventure has long since developed into a wonderfully distinctive mixture of music and theatre, vocal harmonies and quirky ideas, familiar songs and unexpected twists. Sometimes subtle, sometimes groovy, sometimes delightfully offbeat – but always with that unmistakable Bohnen wink.
Four men, instruments, voices, and the comforting realization that a great stage show doesn’t require fireworks or twenty dancers. Sometimes all you need are a few great songs, plenty of musical talent and people who don’t take themselves too seriously.
And for erlenmusic.ch, this evening brings things full circle as well: the original concert in 1993 was organized by the Erlenbach cultural association INSPIRIN. Many years later, the funds remaining from INSPIRIN helped lay the foundation for erlenmusic.ch. So it’s not only the Bohnen who are coming back – a little piece of Erlenbach’s cultural history is coming home too.
So on Saturday, November 14, 2026, this won’t simply be another concert.
We’ll be celebrating 33 years of music, friendship, stories and finely cultivated musical mischief.
“Bohnen im Urlaub” – unplugged, theatrical, in harmony and unmistakably unique.
And who knows? Maybe we’ll all meet again in 2059 for their 66th anniversary.
But at our age, we’d rather not make any promises.
